Burst Water Heater in a Historic Rowhouse Basement
!Challenge
A water heater rupture caused significant flooding in the finished basement of a historic Federal Hill rowhouse, threatening structural elements and antique furniture below grade.
Our Solution
Our crew responded within the hour and extracted standing water with truck-mounted equipment. We deployed LGR dehumidifiers and high-velocity air movers, used thermal imaging to confirm dry-out of concealed cavities, and applied EPA-registered antimicrobial agents to prevent mold in the enclosed space.
Result
The basement was fully dried and restored to pre-damage condition within 4 days. Antique furnishings were preserved, no mold materialized, and the homeowner's insurance claim was processed smoothly with our documentation.
